The Pinto league is a fun, instructional league for current year first graders. Pinto places an emphasis on creating a positive early baseball experience. Equal play rules are strictly enforced both in the field and for hitting. Win/loss records are not maintained.
Season runs from April 17th - June 25th (No games on Memorial Day Weekend)
Pinto Spring House League Program:
- Team practices are on Saturday's for about one hour, either at 11am, 12pm or 1:00pm for 60 minutes. Team practices are for coaches to teach the rules and the mechanics of playing a team sport/baseball.
- Games are played on Sunday afternoons and last about 1 hour and 30 minutes, with coach pitching and a backup tee used when appropriate. The game ties together the weekly clinics and team practices.
- Weekly Stallion/Pinto baseball clinics are Mondays-Thursdays late afternoons (4:00 pm to 5:30 pm) for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Clinics start on April 17th and end on June 22nd and are played on Winnetka Skokie Playfield #3. These clinics will focus on the fundamental baseball skills that are not cover during the team practices. Players may attend either Tuesday or Wednesday clinics or both days, pending on the players other commitments.
All Games are played at baseball fields in Kenilworth, Winnetka or Northfield.
Teams of approximately 10 players are organized around the players schoolmates to facilitate car-pooling and some immediate friends for players.
Pinto (1st grade) Summer House League
This four-week program has been designed for KWBA players who will have just completed their pinto season this spring (those heading into 2nd grade next fall). The objective of the pinto summer house league is to help young players further develop their baseball skills while at the same time increasing their understanding of the rules of the game.
To ensure all participants have a positive experience, trained IBA coaches will oversee a weekly one-hour practice for each team as well as a game where players can showcase what they are learning.
Season runs from July 11th to August 3rd
Pinto Summer House League Program:
- Team practices are on Tuesday for one hour at either 5-6PM or 6-7PM. Team practices are for coaches to teach the fundamental skills and the mechanics of playing baseball.
- Games are played on Thursday for one hour at either 5-6PM or 6-7PM., with coach pitching and a backup tee used when appropriate.
All Games are played at baseball fields on Winnetka Skokie Playfields #3 & #4.
The Pinto Summer House League will implement the same rules that governed the spring house league. Coaches will be responsible for pitching and emphasizing a pace of play that is both brisk and engaging. Players will play a variety of positions and learn how to anticipate and respond to baseball situations that will become commonplace moving forward.

- Equal play rules are a priority in our Pinto House league and are detailed within the KWBA Pinto League Rules. Coaches are strongly encouraged to use the Pinto Lineup Template before each game to organize player positioning accordingly.
